As The Charlatans approach their twentieth anniversary, their music continues to be just as inspirational to hundreds of thousands of fans. They first appeared in 1989 with the self-financed Indian Rope single, and quickly followed it with The Only One I Know, which is to this day amongst the most beloved hits from that exciting era in British music.
Not even a series of tragic circumstances in the 90’s could dent their massive impact on the music industry, with the band scoring nine UK Top Ten albums and 22 Top 40 singles, and collecting a whole new generation of fans such as The Klaxons, The Horrors, Carl Barat and more, and their headline slot on Saturday will see their triumphal and glorious return to the pop throne that is so rightfully theirs.
