John Smith simply states, in his brief biography, that he is a 'guitar man from Devon.' If you take a look and listen to some of the video on his Myspace site, you'll see what a quaint understatement that is. Now, quietly becoming recognized as one of British Folk's most exciting new voices, John, has toured with John Martyn, Davey Graham and supported Tunng, John Renbourn, Martin Carthy and Jools Holland.
To date, John has two albums to his name, his debut, The Fox and The Monk, and Live at The Roundhouse, a stunning document of one of his gigs. Most recently he has collaborated with Cara Dillon, the result of which was a single release of the trad classic, If I Prove False.
