We want to hear your favourite festival moments
04 Jun
Summer Sundae Weekender turns 10 years old this year and to celebrate we're asking you, our festival-goers, to submit your favourite Summer Sundae memories from over the past 10 years.
We'll be publishing your memories on the website and by sending them in you'll be entered into a draw to win a pair of Summer Sundae 2011 tickets or a festival goodie bag!
So it's time get those thinking caps on and submit your memories to competitions@demontforthall.co.uk. Please put "Top 10" in the email subject line. The closing date for entries is July 15th.
If your're looking for some inspiration you can read festival director Rob Challice's top 10 moments below.
My Top 10 Summer Sundae Moments - Rob Challice
2001: Richard Haswell, Jeremy Arndell, myself and all at DMH finishing our first Summer Sundae. This one day event that was conceived in January of that year. The idea of pairing "mates" Morcheeba and Lambchop came quickly and Summer Sundae was born.
2002: David Byrne closing Sunday night.
2003: Gotan Project headlining Saturday night outdoor. Some enchanted evening.
2004: Kings Of Convenience a rare festival set from the Norwegian duo.
2005: Mylo Indoors. A masterful dance set. DMH has a sprung dance floor don't you know.
2006: Belle And Sebastian, one of my favourite bands and probably our biggest headliner to date. 2006 was our first full sold out weekend. Memorable also for Steve Lamacq crowd-surfing during ¡Forward , Russia!
2007: Sophie Ellis Bextor proving that pop on a Saturday night at Summer Sundae makes absolute sense. Seasick Steve plays his second set of the weekend closing the Rising Stage.
2008: Henry Rollins - spoken word. As relevant and as essential as 20+ years ago when I saw him fronting his band.
2009: Monotonix. Three moustachioed guys in speedos go mad. Their set became Summer Sundae legend within 1/2 hour of them playing. Just google balcony jump monotonix.
2010: Who knows which of the lovingly selected acts on Summer Sundae's famously eclectic bill are going to create the most memories this year? One thing we do know though... as always - it's going to be a musical treat.
